A view of the bridge

When faced with an extraordinary view of the Arno river and its Ponte Vecchio bridge, the only way to proceed is by subtraction – by eliminating any unnecessary detail that detracts from it. At least, this was the thinking behind the refurbishment of the Golden View restaurant in Florence, where the simple, essential elegance of the interiors blends naturally into the scene they overlook.

The entrance area, where carefully selected materials demonstrate sincere affection for the local area, is followed by three dining areas arranged in a relatively continuous space. Large windows direct the view from the dining rooms over the scenic Ponte Vecchio and fill the interiors with light.

The walls, finished in various shades from the Warm Grey palette, provide the perfect complement for both the context and the dining experience.

Minimalist dining area with a white table and chairs, a colorful abstract painting on the wall, and a window revealing a bookshelf.
Modern hotel lobby with a wooden bar, teal stools, a metal sculpture, and a seating area with blue chairs on a wooden floor.
Modern restaurant interior with neatly set tables, white tablecloths, and large windows overlooking a cityscape with historic buildings.
A sunlit restaurant interior with white tables and chairs, large windows offering a view of historic buildings under a clear blue sky.
Modern bar interior with a marble counter, wooden floor, blue chairs, and a well-lit shelf displaying bottles. Large window in the background.
