The designers of this house in Northers Italy striped it down to its essence. Keeping only the most persuasive of decorative features. The result is a cooly atmospheric family home that lavishes attention on its architectural details. The walls in Patina and Patina Living create a pictorial effect with elegant delabrè clouds. The warm colours of cream and ivory combined with tones of turquoise and petroleum create a serene environment with a strong impact.
Stripping back the layers of a historic house allows for new realities to emerge. The chromatic combination of the KK 78 sand colour in the Patina Living and Absolute finishes gives a sophisticated naturalness to walls and ceilings, leaving vital space for structural metal details and frescoes. The Invisibile skirting board, also in the colour KK 78, completes the walls.
Contrasting walls in Patina Living in shades of turquoise blue KK 38 give a sense of rhythm to this multi-level home. Large windows looking out over vine-covered walls – decorated tone on tone with Microresina and embellished with the Invisibile KK 38 skirting board – soak surfaces in cool daylight, creating a sense of calm and balance.
A series of smaller rooms were incorporated to create a single open-plan kitchen and dining space in Patina finish. The moulded ceiling, a remnant of the original layout, was painted in KK 38 petrol blue to reflect the room’s separate functions.
On the upper floors, Microresina Floor in teal tones KK 40 recolours old hexagonal tiles, while the bathrooms, in different shades of turquoise, recall the tones of the ground floor. The interior colour palette is echoed on the facade where the white and grey stone is enlivened by Microresina in Tiffany blue KK 36 on the window frames.
