Serenity was the raison d’etre when designing this tranquil hideaway on the shores of Lake Como. To bring about a feeling of total calm, the designers opted for a palette of comfortable neutrals – nothing that would feel too jarring or bright – and an uncluttered organization of space that would not interfere with the architecture’s clean lines.
The walls in Patina Living KK 106 give a delicately delabrè look to the spaces. The tone-on-tone floor in Cementoresina KK 109 covers horizontal surfaces and stairs, elegantly contrasting with materials such as amber-colored wood.
Large windows look out onto the hills and external walls decorated in Outdoor Plaster, the same color as the interiors.
A central hallway allows for uninterrupted views from the core of the house towards the verdant rolling hills surrounding Lake Como. The light turquoise KK 48 Decor in the central wall picks up the pale green shades of the lake and trees beyond, creating a subtle dialogue between the interior and outdoor areas.
Natural materials like stone, marble and wood create subtle contrasts with surfaces: continuous floors in Cementoresina and Wallpaper coverings, both in the unexpected shade of lilac KK 144. The spare decoration and uncluttered expanses allow the warm properties of the materials to sing – visually connecting them with the structure’s minimal facade, entirely clad with Outdoor Plaster resin.
