The legacy of Italian design is one of endless wit and boundless colours. In the mid 20th century, when the Bauhaus architects were preaching the gospel of the all-white functionalist box, the Italians were splashing their buildings with colour and pomp. Although recently built, this apartment entirely decorated in the pastel tones of the Color Collection perfectly embodies that particular joie de vivre.
An unorthodox mixture of colours and textures live harmoniously within this eclectical space: panels in KK 36 seafoam green and butter yellow KK 115, terrazzo flooring combined with Legno+Color, Stripe Living horizontal striped wall paneling, tiled walls, smoky castglass dividers and a black metal structure in Microresina that provides definition to the kitchen and dining room.
Throughout the house, the intelligent use of decorative elements – such as Invisible skirting board and a metal structure decorated with Microresina coloured in black KK 12 – give definition to the lighter dusty shades on the walls. In the bathroom, the black top and the matte washbasins are a counterpoint to the ultra-flat technical walls covered in Wallpaper KK 24 and the showers, one in Wallpaper KK 24 and the other in Microresina KK 129 on tiles.
